ICE DOGS THANKSGIVING TEXAS STYLE

Although this was not a Booster Club event, most of the people that made it possible were Booster Club Members so we thought it would be appropriate to post some pictures on the TTBC website.  

Upon arrival we walked in the door at the hotel and they had decorated the lobby and our banquet room for Christmas.  What a great surprise it was, as we had just been there last Sunday to figure out the layout for our dinner.  Everything was beautiful and had a warm home feeling.

 

 

The Ice Dogs came to the hotel right on time, everyone in the room put on a name tag with not only their name but also their home town. 

 

 

 

The menu consisted of turkey, ham, stuffing, mashed potatoes, corn, green bean casserole,
 sweet potatoes, dinner rolls, gravy, cranberries, veggie trays, relish trays, pies, cakes, and brownies.  Drinks were lemonade, iced tea, water, and coffee.



 

Everything went according to plan with the exception of an electrical problem in the banquet room, that meant a few of the things plugged in were not as warm as they should have been.  Thankfully the hotel had a microwave just a few steps away and we were able to warm the gravy and corn in that.

 

 

How much food did it take to feed the 50 people in attendance (including the front desk staff at the hotel)?  6 turkeys, 2 hams, and 25 lbs of potatoes!

 

After Dinner we brought out Texas Hold’em Poker,

 

 

 

 

and a dice game called "Left, Right, and Center" for those that wanted to play.

A

few folks went to the lobby area to watch the Cowboy’s game.
 

One player even took a nap, which turned out not to be such a good idea.



Teammates can be so mean!




I would like to thank everyone who cooked, cleaned, purchased, and donated to make this event possible, it could not have happened without you!

I know the team, coaching staff, and visiting parents really appreciated the hospitality.

A special thanks to the Hampton Inn for giving us a great rate on the rental of the room and for setting everything up for us, you guys were GREAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
