| Shootout WIN: How sweet is that? Ice Dogs 1 - Texas 2 --- A complete opposite of Wednesday's 7-6 loss with all offense and little defense. Tonight was 65 minutes where the goalies dominated and showed their stuff as they kept it scoreless for forty-three minutes. The Tornado looked real shaky to start only mustering 2 shots to the Ice Dogs's 14 but they withstood the onslaught and stoned Fairbanks. In the second, Texas reversed roles and peppered Dogs goalie Joe Phillippi 18-6 but no goals. The turn around on shots might be credited to Ian Braun's fight that brought James Poston, Steven Behm and Brendan Bandyk into the donnybrook. Eighty two minutes of penalties were the result of the brawl and sent all four to the showers along with their dance partners from Alaska. Ian's infractions included a instigator and a fighting game misconduct over the rest of the combatants. The fights did inspire Texas to push the offense which dominated most of the second and well into the third. Texas broke the 0-0 tie at 3:18 of the third period when Nick Taurence lit the goal light assisted by Jack Prince and Ralfs Freibergs. Fairbanks came back and tied it 1-1 which stood until time ran out forcing an overtime shootout. The five minute overtime went scoreless despite Fairbanks taking 2 min holding penalty. --- The first Fairbanks shooter put one past Sully and things were looking tense until the third round when James Howard scored to make it even. The fourth was scoreless and Dan looked great blocking some very good shots including FB James Saintey's try in the fifth round. Now it was ours to win and Erick Ware put the game winning goal in the net.
